WD/2007/2571/F The Lodge, Buckland Hill, Cousley Wood
Proposed detached single storey garage/workshop
We strongly object for the following reasons. Firstly, the new access would undoubtedly involve the loss of a considerable amount of hedgerow to provide sight lines, which in itself would be regrettable but would also fully expose the building to passers by contrary to the agent’s claim under 3.5 of his submission. Secondly no explanation has been given as to why such an excessively large workshop is required and why it is located in what is considered to be an inappropriate position relative to the dwelling. Thirdly, aesthetically it is very much out of character with existing Victorian buildings in the immediate vicinity contrary to the claim under 3.2 of the submission. Fourthly, it is considered that 2.4 of the submission grossly exaggerates the “danger” of the crossroads as one of them is very rarely used and the visibility splays are more than adequate. Finally there is no reference in the application that the existing access is to be closed and presumably could still be used for additional parking.
WD/2007/2554/F Weald Hall, Mayfield Lane
Installation of extract duct and flue to serve plant to main kitchen to rear
of property.
We object for the following reasons. Firstly, no explanation is given as to why the duct could not be installed for the main part internally. Clearly this would be preferable if possible.. Secondly, the long term appearance of the black insulation is questionable. Thirdly, clearly the ductwork will require some for of bracing which will do nothing to improve its appearance.
WD/2007/2492/F The Holt, Station Hill.
Detached pavilion type building at rear of house
No objection but lateral stability is likely to be affected due to the
lack of any diagonal bracing
