St John Ambulance Home Page

St. John Ambulance is the UK's leading First Aid, transport and care charity. Our volunteers treat over 130,000 casualties a year, providing First Aid and medical support services. We also provide a vast range of care services, as well as a development programme devised especially for children and young adults.

Our St. John Ambulance volunteers are a familiar sight at public events - local fairs, fetes and horse shows which require first aid cover and also activities in the Commemoration Hall. Non-uniformed volunteers provide additional support - helping at local offices, with fundraising, and providing care and support when needed. Training is always given.

We also help other St. John units in Sussex when they need assistance - for example the London/Brighton Cycle race. There are many other opportunities available within St. John for a small amount of your time. This can be in a support role or in a care / first aid role. If you do not have the necessary skills, we can provide the appropriate training. St John Ambulance Wadhurst Division meet every Thursday at Carillon Cottage, from 19:30 - 21:30

If you are not sure about what the tasks involve - or would like to find out more about St John and what it offers, come along to a Thursday meeting or contact the President Mrs Margaret Mailer-Howat on 01892 782 167.   We would welcome new recruits from the whole area - Wadhurst, Ticehurst, Stonegate or Flimwell.
