Notes made at a Planning Meeting held on 18 September 2008 at 18:00
in the Ticehurst Village Institute

Present:  Cllrs Maynard ©, A Cook, Burley, Rigby, Hastings and Langdown

Declarations of interest by any Councillors regarding the list below should be made prior to the meeting or to that item being deliberated

Ticehurst RR/2008/2432/P

The Ponds, Vineyard Lane – provision of new garage – Mr Ould of that address
It was felt that whilst this property was well served by the existing garages, there was no planning issue that would prevent its approval.
Recommendation for approval.

Stonegate RR/2008/2470/P

Eastonden Manor Farm, Battenhurst Rd – erection of agricultural steel framed building for housing sheep and farm machinery – Mr Reader of that address
It was felt that this agricultural building was needed and therefore justified that application.  Recommendation for approval.

Ticehurst RR/2008/2513/P

32 Rosehill  - formation of front and rear dormers – Mr and Mrs Fraser of that address  - Applicant present:
Applicant explained that they had revised their original application to address some of the neighbours concerns and that the reason for the application is to create more room for their growing family.  Cllrs. felt that the window was very close to the ridge line and too large for the roof, stating that they felt it should be subordinate to the over all roof size and that it was out of keeping with the other houses around it.  After discussion about subjective opinions, the Cllrs. felt that they would recommend refusal  but would request that the Planning Committee at Rother visit the site before coming to a decision on the application.

Ticehurst RR/2008/2571/P

Sheepwash Farm  Church Street – erection of two storey side extension – Oakover Holdings Ltd 4 Parsonage Farm, Church St,  Ticehurst
As before  the Cllrs, felt that this was a sympathetic extension in a very large plot of land, instigated by the need for space for a growing family.  Materials and design of the plans were in keeping with the existing, retaining the architectural features of the building and did not affect any other properties.   Recommendation for approval

Ticehurst RR/2008/1677/P

Jasmine Cottage, Burnt Lodge Lane – demolition of existing timber garage and erection of new timber garage/workshop – Mr Clark of that address
The existing garage is in a poor state of repair and the replacement is more attractive, with a slightly larger foot print,  the positioning being in line with the house.  Recommendation for approval

Stonegate RR/2008/2041/P

Shovers Green Cottage,  - erection of ground floor extension – Mr Thomas of that address
It was felt that this extension does not blend in with the existing, being in the AONB and was considered to be over development in such an area.  Recommendation for refusal.

Ticehurst RR/2008/2303/P
RR/2008/2304/L

Little Boarzell – erection of single storey extension to kitchen and new windows to first floor above – Mr and Mrs Avery of that address
The proposal matches the existing extension and balances the building.  No neighbours nearby to be affected.  Recommendation for approval

Flimwell RR/2008/2510/L

12 High Street – The Old Post House – erection of single storey side extension – Mr Cutmore of that address
Cllr. Langdown reported that  this application was no different to the last, other than it was accompanied by a engineers' report as requested by RDC.  Recommendation as before for approval
